Fergus and a top employer in the region, we are recruiting for an experienced Materials, Scheduling, Purchasing & Warehouse Manager to join our team.
As a global leader in advanced cabling and connectivity solutions, Nexans mission is to Electrify the Future by offering an extensive range of best-in-class products and innovative services.
In this role you will manage the day-to-day activities and operations of Scheduling, Purchasing and Warehouse. You will work with the production team to coordinate production orders, manufacturing capabilities and capacities, raw material requirements and shipment accuracy to meet our customer needs while maximizing plant efficiencies. This role reports to the Plant Manager.
Key Areas of Responsibility:
- Review loading/capacity planning to maximize efficiencies ensuring accurate OTIF dates are provided to sales and customers.
- Analyze customer forecasts to plan future production and ensure achievable machine loading
- Manage production order promise dates to ensure customer OTIF in maintained. Investigate root cause when OTIF is missed
- Work closely with Inside Sales/Supply Chain to ensure production accuracy is maintained.
- Manage WIP and Raw Materials to meet defined objectives
- Oversee the purchasing/planning and inventory target set by the load on manufacturing. Maintain MIN/MAX.
- Lead purchasing reviews with corporate purchasing to ensure supplier and plant concerns are addressed in a timely manner.
- Control warehouse cost to meet budget
- Member of Fergus Management Team. Give input and contribute to setting plant goals and improvement plans that strive for world class manufacturing.
- Set goals and perform annual performance review of salaried Direct Reports
- Attain defined KPIs
Required Skills & Qualifications
- 5-10 years Supervisory/Management experience in a Unionized manufacturing environment.
- Materials Management certification
- Knowledge of Supply Chain processes
- Understanding of and experience managing transportation and logistics
- Production, loading and capacity knowledge
- SAP experience is an asset
- Strong communication skills
- Effective time management and organizational skills
- Well-developed leadership skills with ability to motivate, influence, coach in order to interact at all levels of the organization
- Independent problem solving skills
- Process thinking
- Substantial understanding of production methods
