Job Description

The Burnaby School District is hiring two (2) Casual Labourers to work throughout the District in a variety of shifts (day and/or afternoon) Monday to Friday. The shifts are up to 8 hours/day. The rate of pay is $28.63/hour.

The candidate must have access to a vehicle to travel between various district sites in Burnaby.

Hours of work and work location will be determined and may change based on operational needs.

The incumbent will be required to travel to various work sites within Burnaby to conduct water sample testing. Training will be provided.

The incumbent(s) may be required to perform other duties, as required.

This is project work and employment will end upon completion of the project.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

  • Completion of Grade 12 or equivalent
  • Valid B.C. Driver’s License (Class 5). Access to a vehicle to drive to various district sites
  • Sound knowledge of safety procedures related to work performed
  • Physical ability to perform the duties and responsibilities of the job
  • Ability to communicate effectively at the level required for the job
  • Demonstrated ability to work at the level of independence and with the degree of initiative appropriate to the position
